Scouting isn’t all about going dyb, dyb, dyb, wearing shorts and bob-a-job week….
It isn’t about wearing mountie hats or berets….
So what is scouting all about?
Winter camp at Herne, nr. Canterbury
Scouting is still about traditional activities like camping and hiking but we’ve added lots of other activities like cycling, climbing (walls and “the real thing”), Archery, shooting and canoeing.
And we don’t ignore the newer activities like power-bocking (springy stilts)

Our Scouts are not just restricted to events in Sittingbourne. There is a full event calendar organised by Kent Scouts which for 2010 includes Hill Walking, a Survival Badge Weekend, a “Master at Arms” badge weekend, an Expedition Challenge, and the ever popular JAWS (Just Add Water) weekend where participants can try a number of water activities.
There is also the opportunity to mix with young people from other parts of the world by attending a camp overseas or attending an international camp (Jamboree) that is being held in the UK.
In 2009, an international Jamboree was held in Kent. Scouts from all around the world attended.
